Spring brings the rebirth of the earth. Eostre returns from her stay under the deep seas and she rejoins her sister Sol on her ride across the sky. Our ancestors awaited the spring every year because their fall harvests would not last forever, the earth would need to bring forth new fruit for them to live. Eostre was the time for that new beginning. Eostre was a goddess from which Eosturmonaþ took its name.
